Okay ladies...here it is. lol

I am so far loving loving loving my new pazzles machine!! It is AWESOME!!!

I love knowing that I can cut up to an 8" letter (for monograms) if I want to and I can use ANY true type font that is already loaded on my computer!! I'm even able to use the true type CK fonts that i bought from the ScrapNFont website. It is really awesome!!

The program that comes with the machine has the ability to link your letters together so that when you cut your titles, it will come out in one piece. The one thing I learned however, is that you have to watch the font that you use because some of the fonts do not connect ALL parts of the letter. For example, the letter E ... some fonts don't connect the top part of the E to the rest of the letter, kwim? (and obviously, the letter i, the dot at the top won't connect.)

I haven't really cut out die cuts or paper piecings yet, but the machien did come with a How-to manual that explains how to connect your letters, create shadows for your titles/letters, connect images to your titles, cut out die cuts, scan an image and then cut it out .. and lots more! I haven't tried everything yet, but the manual explains everything really well and it's easy to follow!

I haven't had ANY problems cutting through bazzill!!!! Once pass and it's cut!! This machine is truly a dream come true for me!!! i LOVE it!!!

Now, you're probably thinking ok...so what's the difference between the wishblade, craft robo, cricut, xyron personal cutting machine and the pazzles.

From what I understand, the wishblade and craft robo, DO NOT connect your letters in a title automatically...You need to save it in your current program, use another program to link it, open it in the previous program and then cut it. It's possible...but to me, that's too many programs to be switching back and forth to use--but that's my personal preference, kwim? Also, the WB and the CR needs have the cut commands done TWICE or more to cut through the bazzill cleanly and completely. Again, for some, not a big deal...but that would bug me, again, personal preference. I really think that because of my finickiness, the pazzles is the better machine for me. IF HOWEVER, you are not finicky like me and odn't mind switching between 2 or 3 or more programs to achieve the look you want for your titles/die cuts etc., then you can save your $ and buy the WB or the CR. (Keep in mind though that some programs are NOT free and so by the time you spend the $ to buy the programs ... it might end up costing just as much as the pazzles.)

As far as the cricut and the personal xyron machine....I would ONLY recommend these two machines IF you go to crops ALOT and wouldn't bring your laptop and pazzles. You are basically paying for the convience of not being hooked up to the computer. If you scrap a lot at home and that's what you'd be using it the most for AT HOME... then invest in a WB or pazzles machine. Save your $ because in the long run, a cricut is just like a sizzix, except electronic. you still have to buy the fonts separately...and at $80 a pop It does get pricey. Whereas your computer, you can buy fonts for $2 or so? or even FREE! ... and use it on your WB or pazzles.

AND the best part of the pazzles/WB/CR is that there ARE fonts out there that resemble the QK fonts AND the Sizzix fonts!! ...

So lovelies....I just might be selling those QK fonts that I have! Be on the look out!! lol

lol

www.pazzles.com (http://www.pazzles.com) You can get more info about the pazzles machine.

I bought mine from this lady ...

www.paperdreamsstore.com (http://www.paperdreamsstore.com) Ilana (spelling?) is the owner of the store. She's really nice and super helpful!!!

That is correct about the Wishblade / Craft Robo. It won't link your letters automatically. I do mine in Illustrator and it's pretty easy, but definitely not a one-step process. Wasn't willing to spend the extra moolah, though!

rofl! not that much tigger! that's for the bigger machines!!

I have the pazzles mini ... it's on sale at the paper dreams store for $612.00 and she includes 2 CD's worth of images as well.

I figured, I don't need the bigger machines...the bigger ones cut on a 12x12 paper, but, I don't really intend to cut titles that big, kwim? the mini already cuts a 81/2 x 11 sheet so the longest title you can have is about 10" which is fine with me.

Tigger
04-26-2006, 05:43 AM
Ahhh. I was forgetting the 11" side. So when I looked at the Mini I immediately put it out of my head and went for the 12".

Oh wait.

$612.50??????? <thud>

lol

well, think of it this way...if you saved $100 a month, you can get the mini in about 7 months! AND have a littl extra left over for some SB paper shopping! rofl

I think they will go down in price :)

Cynthia
04-26-2006, 01:42 PM
They would need to go down quite a bit, but I can see how they would be really handy. No more hand-cutting delicate titles.

Thanks for the review.

CareBear5

The Wishblades were over $600 when they first came out and now they're only $425 or so. I would hope the price will come down, but I could NOT wait that long! If my Craft Robo ever breaks, I may consider this.

See, now, the $612 can be easily justified.

UNLIMITED fonts = no need for QK, Sizzix, etc. This means all that savings, PLUS you don't need all the storage for all those dies!

It's awesome, if you ask me!!!

I agree with you! OMG! I don't want to even know how much I spent on allllll of my sizzix stuff! I have I htink 14 sizzlits fonts, bunches of the 4 set sizzlits, lollipop, fs, shadow box and a lot of red dies... I probably could have gotten the bigger pazzles for all that moolah spent!

(joining tigger..)

AuntLynnie

I know! At least $100-$150 for each QK font...

Rhonda
04-26-2006, 03:11 PM
wow...great review.
unfortunately like Paula, it's way out of my reach RIGHT NOW, but hopefully it'll come down in a few months and I can invest.

AuntLynnie
04-26-2006, 03:12 PM
OH! AND not only is it saving the $$ on the dies, but you also save paper! Cuz each time I want an "A" out of the Olivia die, I have to cut "B", "C", and "D" with it!

Mommy April

Oh you are soooo right Lynnie!!!

I actually sat down and looked all my QK fonts and my Sizzix fonts. I have about 5 QK fonts, 3 are minis and 2 are regular (with Upper AND lower) ... that's already about $500 if you round out the fonts to be about $100 each. And then add in my sizzix fonts, I have 3 ... that's already about $300! ... so I've actually already paid for my pazzles machine just in fonts that I already own!!! CRAZY! lol

msninjawrx
04-26-2006, 04:53 PM
well, no need to sell the pazzles & saving money to me cuz i'm already sold. i'm seriously thinking about selling my sizzix and quickutz to get that sucker. oy.

No. I was a little bummed. But she did give me a $10 credit on the shipping. usually, when shipping to HI, there's "small print" that I gotta look for--but mainland U.S.--when it says free, it really is free. lol

I'm selling my sizzix and the 4 fonts that I have on ebay and taking that money to cut the cost of the pazzles. All of you guys that have more of those than me should consider that too.

AuntLynnie
04-27-2006, 08:22 AM
I will NOT be buying ANY more fonts for my QuicKutz. I will be saving up for a Pazzles. :)

lol I've found fonts that I can purchase/download that look just like the QK fonts....

but I'm having a hard time letting go of my QK dies even though I know I won't be using them!! lol It's that I spent so much of scrapping time with them they're like family! rofl

Hello All,

This is my first post EVER! I purchased the Pazzles Mini today (thank you TND151 for the great review) and was wondering if anybody had any tips or files they could send me or direct me to the free ones to use.

Take care,

Lis

My first post...
I've seen the big pazzles and would love to have one. However, the mini would work fine, hadn't thought about 11in titles. $600 is a lot better than $3000.
Great review!
