Amy's painting tip - The front of plastic packages (like what chipboard letters come in, the plastic on the front and then the cardboard back) Once you peel off the cardboard back, That plastic front makes a GREAT place to put paint - like a pallett (?) DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANYONE?

You won't believe what my mom and I just did! I pulled out my alcohol inks (which I have never used) and a lunch pail and said "let's play!". We have spent the last hour inking the pail, a glass vase, buttons, a recipe card box, foil.... it was actually her inking more than me, but it was fun!!!

I need to distress/stain/age my paper and I don't have any REAL product to do it with...Maybe I'll try it and just see what happens. I think I saw it on DIY scrapbooking.

I'm trying to remember what I've heard about the acidity of teabags, and can't.

Cheryl I did it once but I used vellum. It wrinkled up a lot but I found if you dry it between 2 layers of paper towels and put a phone book or something heavy on top, it will dry flatter. It can be done. I used 2 teabags- here's the LO- here (http://www.scraplove.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=4791&c=20) All the brown vellum is teastained. I left it in a casserole dish (flat) until it was dark enough for me. I kept checking it.

I feel the same way, Donna. I don't know where to start. I got 2 LO's done this afternoon, but now I need to decide what I want to work on.

Regarding tea staining (if you still want to know). I tried it once. What I did was put a little bit of boiling water in a cup and I threw a teabag or 2 in there and let that sit for awhile. I tried just putting some of the condensed tea on my paper, but it really didn't seem to stain it much, so I basically just ran the teabags over the paper and let it dry and did it again a time or 2 till it was darker. I put my paper in the oven to help it dry quicker, but the paper got warped. I'm sure you could iron it out, though. I hope I made some sort of sense.

dammit, Photoshop is doing auto update. Well, the file must be HUGE, it has been updating for 20 minutes.

Of course I didn't plan ahead and have my pictures printed, no, had to wait. I could use iPhoto, it does a decent job, but I thought I would do all my editing and save them with photoshop.

Ok girls .... I think you have corrupted me. I went garage sale shopping this morning. I was digging through the kids books and bought a bunch of board books for altering. Then I bought these wooden boxes (microscope slide boxes) the old guys at the sale kept telling me how they were so old and those companies weren't even in business anymore .....I did not tell them I planned on altering them.

So now I'm waiting for the hubby to get home from work so he can find me the sander and then watch the child.

Evening. Thus far I've only managed to finish 1 page & start a second. I'm not a fast scrapper to begin with & kids are being BAD today 'cuz they know I'm trying to do something. I'm all by myself with the monkeys as hubby's at drill.
