I took dd and her "bestest" friend to the pool today and got some really sweet pics, so you know I just had to share...

They were cracking me up all afternoon with their "big girl" conversations. Emily was "Belle" and Tess was "Ariel" and most of the time they were lying on a float while their servant (me) pulled them around the pool. I feel so sorry for the boys when they get older because these 2 are definitely high maintenance!!! I don't know where mine gets it from...must be her daddy's side again!!!

At 11:30 they were both huddled under my scrappy desk because they thought they heard "wolves" outside!!! I know Tessie and I know she convinced my dd that the dog barking next door was a wolf. Tessie had been wanting to go home for over an hour but I couldn't get a hold of her parents so I finally just put them in the car and drove Tess home. All the lights in her house were on and her dad was sitting at his computer in the front room with the blinds open, but no one would answer their phone. Grrrr!!!!

Everyone is right.....interesting angles make for some fun photos......and fun LOs to do as well.

Glad you got out! Did the sunshine help at all?

The sunshine was amazing for my soul. I am trying to learn to take better pictures and I've been reading a ton of blogs on photography tips, so I've been trying out these angled shots. Problem is I like them so much it's hard to stop!!!! I do take a "regular" straight-forward shot too just in case. I've learned that photography is just as addicting as scrapping!!!

Those pics are just awesome!!! You did a great job!
And both girls are bauties! IŽm sure youŽll have to deal with a lot of boys on your door sooner or later! ;)

Wait until you get your digi slr. It is very very bad! Then comes the "I need a new lens" addiction.

I've already started pricing lenses. I think I have my birthday/anniversay/christmas presents picked out for the next 5 years. I have a question for you Alicia, how do I get rid of the kid in the background at the pool? I know there is a way to "lasso" some background I think.

Photoshop expert I am not. That is next on my "to do" list.

you are correct though......you can do what you are thinking of........I just can't walk you through it.

At least I know I'm on the right track. I'm just learning Photoshop myself, but I love it. Already very addicted to the "actions". There are 2 pics where I just couldn't get an angle that didn't have someone in the background, and I really don't want to detract from the 2 little ones sitting by the side of the pool chatting, KWIM? I'm going to try the "lasso" tonight and see how it works, worse case I can also "undo", right?

Undo is my friend in Photoshop!! Remember to save your picture as a copy before you work on it so you still have the original!
