This tutorial is going tobe super easy and I expect ALL OF YOU to be able to show me your creativity, k?? ;-)

All you need is approximately 10-12 strips of ribbon to start with cut into aprroximately 5 inch strips.

You can also use fabric which works very well here, too. Try not to use any really tightly woven ribbon like grossgrain. You can use it but it wont fray quite as nicely as some satin ribbon or fabric.

Next step is to start layering your ribbon strips on top of each other...randomly of course like this...and glue them together as you go. i just used one dot of zip dry glue and it held perfectly. You can also use some fabric tac or fabric glue.

The more ribbon strips, the more full the flower will be at the end.

Let the glue dry!!!

Next step is to get out your scissors and start cutting those ribbon strips into even smaller strips. For example, make it look like it went thru a shredder....do it all the way around the flower like this...

Now here's the fun part!!!

Start wadding up your ribbon flower into a little ball and roll it around in your hands. If it seems as if it is slipping around and not fraying it, periodically aedd some water to your hands. You can also totally soak the ribbons in water and roll it around in your hands as well. Just keep messing with it and rolling it around till you get the desired frayed look.

Before I started distressing my flower, I soaked it in some Glimmer mist. Here's how it should look when you are done!

You can leave it that size or cut it down smaller all the way around...whatever you choose! Here are a couple of mine that I am playing with the centers and what to put in them...

Now that is EASY PEASY, right????

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR RIBBON FLOWERS!!!!

OK - here's my take. I made a card with mine. (http://www.scraplove.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=16436&c=49) I didn't have any Glimmer Mist and I used a Basic Grey chipboard flower for my center. The Zip Dry worked great on this, even in water!! Thanks for the challenge, Michelle!
