When you hit the power switch to your computer and nothing happens?

Am I screwed?

Everything is plugged in and I was able to get on this morning. It has been working funny the last couple of days. It wouldn't shut off after shutting it down was the biggest problem. I'd have to shut it off at the surge protector. I did maintenance on it defraged and everything. So as Techies...is it dead? should I be giving last rites?

Depending on what else it's doing, could be a flaky power supply, could just be a bad switch.........

Well whatever the problem is, it's gonna have to wait to be fixed. I'll have to keep using the old laptop. It's slow as a snail but at least it works.
