Yesterday I post this little handstamped box called a 2-4-6-8 box
and mentioned I would post the directions too. I hope this is the
right place to post directions. :book:
You can make a 2-4-6-8 box out of any size of cardstock.
You take your cardstock and have it in front of you so you are going to
start scoring from top to the bottom - -the long way. You score using a stylus of bone folder or even a butter knife at 2", 4", 5" and 8". The next step is to turn it sideways and score at 2" (this would be the bottom of the box)
Then you cut the tiny rectangle that the scoring makes in the corner. Cut acoress the bottome of EACH OF THOSE 2" inch long lines. You then fold on all of the scored lines. Take the box so the "score" lines are upward and then it's time to stamp to your hearts delight......you could randomly stamp the entire piece or plan out your stamping. Personally, I stamped the entire piece of cardstock BEFORE I even started scoring and cutting......I feel this made for a better look of random stamping -- JMHO. :)
Then you GLUE on the TWO center squares on the bottom of the box and stack them one ontop of each other to start to form the box. Glue stick, photo squares, whatever your favorite adhesive is. The long strip is folded "INSIDE" of the side of the box and then the last 2" square is the outside bottom part of the box. (clear as mud??) :upside:
The example in my gallery I made a cover for just by taking matching cardstock - sorta like making a topper for a bag -- cut it the width of the box and folded in half - - -then I took something I had on my table I don't remember that was "round" and used it as template with my paper edges scissors in hand and made a half circle......real easy. roflmao
You pinch this box together "sorta" like a milk carton. Pinch the top together and punch holes though all layers and that's how you tie the ribbon.
I'm going to add to my gallery a template of sorts that a friend gave me - I think once you see the template you'll be able to understand these directions and trust me, once you make one - - "You'll get it" - - their really very easy to make. If you have questions, just ask. :compute:
