I'm a scrapbooker and a cardmaker. I love making cards. As a demonstrator for a rubberstamp company...cards are what I do.
I've been teaching myself some new techniques lately and this technique is so cool. This technique would probably work for scrappin too. Maybe as a mat for a photo or for journaling.
You need glossy cardstock. They have it through The Angel Company and Stampin Up...I'm sure they'd have it at a local stamp store.
Turn your iron onto the hottest setting. Lay your glossy cardstock on a hard surface, glossy side up.
Take a piece of wax paper, the size of the cardstock, and crumple it up. Then smooth out the wax paper and lay it flat, on top of the glossy cardstock. Then take a piece of computer paper and lay it on top of the wax paper (making a sandwich).
Take your iron and iron over the papers. Be sure to use pressure, but also be sure to not burn your papers.
Lift the iron, lift off the computer paper and life off the wax paper. Take your glossy paper and either use a sponge or a brayer and ink up the glossy cardstock. The wax paper leaves a cool resist design on your glossy cardstock. It looks so cool. Makes a real neat background for a card for men.
For a different design, instead of crumpling up your wax paper...fold it. I do believe you can only use the wax paper once.
Stinkin cool
